Q. What does UNOFFICIAL mean?
A. Unofficial means that Michael has no official part in the fan club and has not
endorsed it as his official one.
Q. Does Michael know about the fan club?
A. Yes, Michael knows about the fan club, has seen a membership package and has given us the OK to run the
club unofficially. He even attended our SSW 2006 and our NYC 2007 gatherings and has given his permission for us to
use some of his exclusive photos for merchandise. He has been very supportive. He explained that if he were to have
an official fan club, the fans would deserve much more of his time than he is able to give at the moment,so he would
like it to remain unofficial at this time. If things change in the future and he decides he would like to make it official,
he will let us know. I send him copies of the newsletter and keep him informed of what we do.
Q.Why are you doing this?
A. I was actually asked about starting one about the time of SSW 2005, when I attempted to arrange a gathering of
fans that I had met on line. I began to look into it then, but it wasn't until I started the web site (www.michaeleastonplace.com ), that I became serious about it. Some of the same fans that encouraged me to start the web site, asked about a fan
club. Fans like to belong to a group of people that have the same interests they do. They like a way to
officially proclaim their devotion, to have exclusive mdse and gatherings, etc. I have been fortunate enough to get
to know many of Michael's fans over the years and enjoy talking with them and meeting up with them. I know many other
fans feel the same way. When I shared that previously fan clubs were active in charities and that I wanted this club
to support the charities Michael supports and to be about more than just the t-shirt, the fans were excited about that
too. I enjoy working on the web site very much. I love working with Michael's fans and providing a service to them.
This is a way of continuing that. This is something they want, and something I will have great fun providing.
Q. What do you mean by not-for-profit
A. As of July 20,2007 The Unofficial Michael Easton Fan Club Inc. became a non profit corporation.
Now not only do you have our word we are donating all proceeds to charities, the IRS is checking on us too. LOL We
are committed to honoring Michael by fundraising for charities he supports. The fan club is about more
than that though. We are also committed to making a positive difference by supporting Michael and each other.
We have become like a family. The fan club motto is "Making Friends Making a Difference".
We would love for you to join us.
Q. Will Michael be at the gatherings?
A. The primary reason for the gatherings is for Michael's fans to get together. They will coincide with other
fan events, like SSW. I will of course inform Michael and invite him, but since this is not an official fan club,
I can't be sure he will attend. He was kind enough to attend our 2006 SSW and our 2007 NYC gatherings, but there
is no guarantee he will do that again.
Q. Will this become an official fan club?
A. Of course I would be thrilled if Michael decided to make us official, but there is no way of knowing if that will
ever happen. Most official fan clubs started off unofficially and then were eventually endorsed by the honoree.
It would be great to have his input, his permission to use some other photographs,or his involvement in maybe planning some
gatherings to which he agrees to attend............. but for right now, it is about fans coming together to let him,
other fans, and the world know how much we love and are dedicated to our favorite guy! Officially or unofficially!
