What seems like yesterday, but now is a moment to anyone, ‘somewhere in time’, was the time of my life. I
went to the PC dinner (8-22-03) alone but had met many incredible, loving, and fun fans. I’ll never forget the night
first waiting in line to get into the hall. That in itself was beautiful. The scenery, the night air was breathtaking to
me. In some areas of the crowd it seemed to be like a sea of white and black. To me it was as if to symbolize the support
of two different hot couples of the show. White resembling the love relationship of the light side of Alison and Rafe. Then
there were many in black, which made me think they were supporters of the couple of darkness, which were Caleb and Livvie
(Olivia). I was always a huge supporter of Caleb & Olivia, therefore I wore a black outfit with blood-red costume jewelry.
There is so much to say about this evening, but I have elected to keep it short and sweet. Maybe someday on my own site
( http://fellowshipofportcharles.us/ )I shall write of it. However, I will say that though the night was bittersweet, it was also electrifying when all of the
stars of the show started to come into the hall. Many cheers and woo-hoo’s, but nothing like the ovation that Michael
received. Not surprising.
I had a choice of using my camera or my brother’s video cam. I chose the cam because I wanted to remember and look
back at the moment in live action. Not just snapshots. I wanted to relive at any time the cheers, the peoples and the stars
voices, just everything “in motion.”
So unfortunately, though I do not have a picture of Michael and me together, I am sharing two of my photos I took from
my DVD as I approached him with the video cam. Everything at that point seemed to go in slow motion and it never dawned
on me to ask someone to hold the video cam for me as I talked with him. But then as I look back, if I had thought of it
I probably wouldn’t have anyway. I am not big on pictures of me. The only one I could accept was the hug. That I wish
I had on film… but I hold it dearly as a memory and a feeling I shall never forget.
I told him that he would always be the master of the screen to me, and how much I would miss the show. He was so kind
and gentle. He autographed one of my favorite pictures of him at which time he had told me was one of his favorites, as
well. I then gave him a big bear hug, which was retuned in kind. I thanked him for everything and then bowed to my man of
the screen, and my personal hero.
God Bless Michael Easton for the man he is, the smiles he has given and brought to so many people. For being a man of
wisdom, talent, beauty, compassion and for being an inspiration to us all. - Juliet
